Crucial Conversations with Community Works West

Every survivor deserves not only safety but also the opportunity to heal, rebuild, and restore what has been taken from them. This month, our Crucial Conversation highlights an innovative program dedicated to that vision.

We are honored to welcome Sandra Machado of Community Works West, who will share the transformative work of their Survivor Restoration Program. Grounded in restorative justice values, the program provides support for survivors of violence, focusing on healing, empowerment, and rebuilding community. Through this approach, survivors are not defined by harm, but uplifted with dignity, voice, and the resources they need to move forward.

Event Details:
Date: Wednesday, September 17, 2025

This is a vital opportunity to learn about survivor-centered restorative practices, explore pathways to justice beyond the traditional system, and reflect on how we can better support those impacted by violence.

Please note: This event may include sensitive topics related to trauma and violence.

We hope you’ll join us in this important conversation and continue building a community that uplifts, restores, and stands with survivors.
